Following renewed interest in the band courtesy of "Bohemian Rhapsody" appearing in the "Wayne's World" movie in 1991, Hollywood Records came up with an odd hybrid of US radio hits, singles and fan favourites for the North American market titled "Classic Queen" -- with a design strikingly similar to the "Greatest Hits II" compilation the rest of the world had seen a few months earlier.
"Classic Queen", in turn, would be succeeded by yet another compilation (again for the North American market) called, confusingly enough, "Greatest Hits".
Making things even more interesting, the "original" EMI "Greatest Hits" collections would later be re-released as the double-package "Greatest Hits I & II" in 1994 -- including in North America.

I first bought this on cassette in 1992 and quickly got the CD and vhs of the videos a few years later. Even though it is an odd collection with "Bohemian Rhapsody" repeating from the original GH release, there are some great songs I never knew from the 80s that made me a true fan. I like this version of "Under Pressure" and the edited versions of "I Want It All" and "The Miracle" are not too bad to the ears and helped to pack in some great songs. This and the original Elektra greatest hits, which I had to order as an import cd back then, bookended themselves rather well, though that first compilation was OOP since 1983 I believe in the US and many other areas at the time.

Outstanding audio quality. When the drums kick in who "Who Want to Live Forever", it'll send chills down your spine. -

Redefining the word 'classic' to mean a half baked effort designed to squeeze the dedicated fan out of more hard earned money, but the sound is quite good. -
Questionable choices for many music videos. Particularly egregious is the choice to go with a Wayne's World version of the Bo Rhap video over the original. Sound quality is inconsistent. Good song choice, but the rest of the package ranges all over the place from good to awful.
