For all you below....Where do you hear the hoovers in this track? I mean, the sound playing over and over again, is a typo hoover, yet NOT hoover. Not the original hoover sound on ''dominator'', nor the hoover sound on ''mentasm''.
As for this track, i would say its classic Beltram, nice track, yet a little boring in my honest opinion. Playing the same again and again, with no other elements to spice it up. Quite minimal i would say for the oldskool standards.
Not to mention that the record has exactly the same track on both sides halfway, and nothing else. It could had been single sided vinyl with not making any difference to this. Nothing groundbreaking here, and it doesn't sound like Belgian techno 1991 at all. It sounds more like proto-gabber, or a typical generic rave tune.
I'm not a fan of Beltram's music in general, despite the fact that i 'm oldskool Belgian style techno-head. Most of his tracks are extremely simple and minimal, like this one, based on only 1 repetitive sound and a simple beat, rather than making a wall of sounds with many synths and stabs and plenty of layers that was a general rule on original Belgian techno style tracks of 1991.
Most of Beltram's tracks are trance / early trance music, and not Belgian techno style 1991.
For me ''energy flash'' will always be his best tune ever, a seminal masterpiece on defining the Belgian techno style that was emerged mainly 1 year later during 1991. Such a forward thinking track is ''energy flash'' for 1990, and absolutely unique. Nothing else that he did, can sur it.

This is an absolute rave classic! Still sounds immense today. Immense record that tore up dance floors back in the day.

This was a kind of clubby rave track at the time. It rules and has a very “in your face” sound that is missing from everything non-rave related. The main hook is what still gets me to this day.

The Purists and Beltram Fans are shocked, untypical Release, Hoover Sound, what's that ?! However, nobody knows how deep Joey had his Hand in this Production except himself. And if the other guys do the work and just use Joeys Name as to get more attention, who cares ? I just can tell you, this tune was a groundbreaking floor bomb in the past. It burns down everything in the past on every rave, in every club. The dancing crowd flipped out, and if you where dj at this moment you had an experience you will never forget in your life. A time period where this music was new and exiting. No commercial shit, djs fees are mostly free drinks the whole evening, hotel/gasoline amount and a free feeling spirit. When you weren't there please stop crying around "worst beltram Production" bla bla, you had no idea.

This Track is a huge step above most of the rave music that was being released at the time. If you don't like this you are really gonna be disappointed with the alternatives. Understandable you may not like this if you weren't in the scene at this time, but this song had a really great energy for dancing in this scene and really moved the dancers and the dance floor.. At the same time Goa Trance was beginning to go deep into the esoteric and psychedelic aspects of dance music so if you want to go to the other extreme polarity from this Exoteric dance music to something deeper and more profound, check out Classic Goa Trance from the years 1991 to 1998. Trance was also beginning to come on line at that time, so a lot of styles to choose from.

i think all this negative comments are made by people who wasn't there at the begining of all this rave euphoria
so i think they can't handle the sound of 1991.

Nitpicking: My copy of this has MPO intact on the runout as opposed to crossed out, otherwise identical. Does that count as a separate entry?

Full on Belgium Techno from Joey Beltram.
Huge tune back in 1991 - pack full of energy with its driving techno rhythms, huge synth rave stabs and a whole load of other sample put to great effect. Take your pick on the mixes they are both checking out.

God knows what Joey Beltram was on when he came up with this one, but compared to "Joey's Riot", "Energy Flash" or "Code 6" you would swear it was by a different artist altogether. The only point of comparison is in the drum programming ! Definitely one to avoid for true Beltram fans.
