David Freiberg – Baron Von Tollbooth & The Chrome Nun

The sound of this version is unfortunately very muffled and muddy.

If you own this copy, with a black label, it most likely did not come with inserts or a custom inner sleeve, none of the 80’s Best Buy Series did.

Had this on vinyl since 1973. A much underrated album, but sound is so muddy. Is there a mud free version out there?

Underrated addition to the Jefferson Airplane canon - a galaxy of star players & great psych/sci-fi/pastoral songs. A transitional overlooked gem.

Just bought a sealed US release and was unsure if getting a 1st or the 1977 reissue (https://discogs.programascracks.com/Paul-Kantner-Grace-Slick-David-Freiberg-Baron-Von-Tollbooth-The-Chrome-Nun/release/726738). On opening, has the matrix for the 1st (and seemingly a first stamper at that -- BFL1-0148-A-1s [and B-1s on the B-side]), but also includes the insert with artist credits as described on the 1977 reissue listing. I can scan in the latter if there's any interest as this insert is not described as being present with the US 1st and its presence in a sealed item makes for certain association.

MrCK, the same for me. That's my back cover of Sunfighter http://i.imgur.com/DISDZqZ.jpg and it says 07863 67418-2 too. Cover differs from the typical Sunfighter's RCA 07863 67421-2 cover. It is very strange that RCA mistyped a catalogue number.

Does anyone know if this (Paul Kantner, Grace Slick & David Freiberg - Baron Von Tollbooth & The Chrome Nun) release originally had a printed inner sleeve, or a generic white? Found a crisp well-loved copy but no insert/printed inner sleeve, just wondering, thanks!

My copy has the same barcode and artwork, but a jewel case.
Printed on the CD is the catalog number: RCA 07863 67418-2
The way the number as printed on the spine is a little misleading because it looks like they ran out of space...
