Clearly the synth line is a reference to TransEurop Express from Kraftwerk, init? -

The banjo hook is from an old American T.V. show called GREEN ACRES, and is the part most people loved when the song was new. You have to , when this song came out, using television show theme songs was popular and catchy. Inspector Gadget was used on Doug E. Fresh's "The Show" and The Smurfs was used on Gigolo Tony's "Smurf Rock"--Those are 2 just off the top of my head, but there are probably hundreds.
Also, there was an "Oliver" and "Mr. Haney" on the show GREEN ACRES, which is why those names appear in the intro for M.C. A.D.E.'s 2nd release, "Bass Mechanic."
So... As an old school Florida DJ who has been spinning since 1984, I'm going to have to disagree with the previous dis of the GREEN ACRES theme utilization on this release. -

This is a solid record with one problem, the banjo hook used every once in a while is just plain rubbish! Two copies are a must for a DJ to get around this if playing vinyl, or a quick snip or two in CoolEdit for a Serato DJ, however which way you do it, it's worth the effort, big 808 beats and a cool synth make for a decent mid 80s Miami version excursion of the classic Kraftwerk cut.
