I really wish that this version could hold a candle to the Monarch pressing from 1973 and it can't. The mastering lacks "air" and it's painfully dull compared to the original. Kevin is a great engineer but this effort doesn't bring out the best in the music, sorry.

Per usual this is a fantastic sounding Monarch Record Mfg. Co. pressing of this legendary sophmore Judee Sill effort…Such warmth and clarity in this, old analog recording, as good as any I own in my vast collection

My copy includes a plain black inner sleeve, however it does not contain any wordings or # indication it is an ois

Very disappointed. Sibilant as all get out, especially on the back half (The Donor is unlistenable), and Intervention never responded to multiple inquiries about replacing my copy.

fantastic sounding disc. a lot of distortion that's a part of the mix, but that's not the fault of the mastering job.

i don't regret the 30 dollars or so i spent on this and i really do recommend it even for the casual listener.

Is anyone else getting significant distortion on the high ages of side C?

This is beautifully done but my only complaint is that they put the vocals way up front in the mix. As a result of that the instrumentation is - in parts - hardly audible. IMO it’s all a bit overdone which makes listening to these albums tiresome at times. Not sure if the original press has the same kind of EQ-ing. It’s all up to ones’ preferences I guess. But don’t get me wrong: this is an insanely beautifully made pressing.

This is an absolute perfect pressing! I've waited two years for a repress and gosh was it worth it! Intervention Records can do no wrong and this is further proof. Dead silent pressing, jaw dropping master, and stunning sound at 45 RPM. Buy a copy for yourself and all your friends!

I am spinning this now… Side A perfect, my god what a beautiful record. Nothing short of spectacular. Very slight edge warp on both discs, nothing to worry about out. Side B and Side C sound tremendous, though I did detect a little oddness in The Phoenix something akin to distortion on the second of the word “soarin”. And perhaps a bit of softness in The Donor on side D as well, towards the end in the kyrie eleison section. However, having just compared the version on Tidal via Roon and found the same issues, I would say that these two minor and momentary issues are not related to the pressing at all, they seem to be on the master used to cut the record.

Overall, this is fab though obviously revealing of shortcomings in the recording or the master.

It’s a beautifully presented package, both visually and sonically.
