George Harrison – Brainwashed

EDIT 2: Great sounding pressing. Really warm and pleasant sound. Vinyl is pretty quiet too. I got a warped copy but was able to exchange for a flat one.

Nice sounding pressing! Sounds better than my original cd. The vinyl was a little dirty, but is flat and plays flawlessly with no surface noise.
This is a fine album and a must have for George fans.

A sweet and warm final album from George Harrison, and thankfully Jeff Lynne restrains himself with the production. This one's a creeper, grows on me more and more as time goes by. Highlights include "Any Road", "Rising Sun", "Stuck Inside A Cloud" and "Rocking Chair In Hawaii". This is the 2017 pressing, and it has a clean, full-bodied soundstage with good range from top to bottom. My copy looks brand new and plays flawlessly, flat and quiet, with zero surface noise.

This is the vinyl version to own. Mastered at Bernie Grundman. Sounds a tad better than the vinyl version 15 years later.

Wondering how the quality of this 2017 remastered pressing compares to the sound of the original 2002 Parlophone pressing?
If anyone who’s heard both has any insight into the quality and or differences between the two?

After the death of George Harrison on 29 november 2001 quickly became known shortly before his death still has been working on new work. George has never hearing the final result but producer and close friend Jeff Lynne has finished, the plate with the help of Dhani Harrison, son of George. It was the explicit wish of George that the plate would be not too smooth and that's good. The voice of George and the sober acoustic rhythm guitar dominate the sound image, making regular associations with Harrison's former band The Beatles. The as always philosophical texts offer a fascinating insight into the State of mind of Harrison, who at the time of the recording looked death in the eye. Brainwashed is an impressive farewell to one of the most important pop stars of the last century.
