Spin-off label from the mail order company Funhouse Records, based in Margate. In the late '70s and early '80s they sent a bulky catalogue out every month, a mouth-watering list of incredible US and UK psychedelia (some of it supplied by Chuck Warner of Hyped2Death/Messthetics fame). I used to buy stuff when I could afford it, but it was pricey gear.

The first Psycho release was Endless Journey. One of the early comps collecting obscurities following in the wake of Pebbles and Choc Soup. Despite the weird sound quality it was a good album (the follow-ups slightly less so).

The first Perfumed Garden was another early effort. This one took no prisoners with a handsome batch of UK psychedelia. I used to play this LOUD to unsuspecting visitors to my flat c.1983/4 and watch their jaws hit the floor in amazement. Not one bad track on that one and reissued time and again by various cash-in labels.

Lots of releases followed over the next couple of years but things ground to a halt around 1985. I don't know why.
