Variety Recording Service

Profile:

Mastering arm of Fred Vargas.
In some instances it also acted as a label for private releases. For a related label see Variety Records (5).

It employed a Scully lathe with Westrex cutting heads. The company also offered pressing services but it remains unclear whether they pressed records themselves.

Operations ceased after Vargas died in 1989, but the recording studio remained active until 1996.

Records cut here can be recognized by "Variety" etched in the runouts.
