On March 30, 2004, Sony Disc Manufacturing (SDM) and Sony DADC Austria announced the unification of Sony's worldwide manufacturing facilities outside Japan under the name Sony DADC.
Sony Music Canada was included in this unification and it resulted in the founding of Sony Dadc Canada Co in 2005.
Toronto, Canada, October 26, 2006- Sony DADC Canada announced that it had signed a multiple year lease in Toronto at its 1121 Leslie Street location.
Sony DADC Canada's DVD replication capacity was doubled in 2006 with additional capacity increases scheduled for 2007. In addition, fully automated DVD packaging capabilities were installed.
There was a plan to increase CD replication capacity scheduled for 2007 with the installation of additional replication and label print equipment.
As of October 2007, Sony DADC's plant in Toronto, Canada was a 166,000 square foot facility that had started LP and cassette production in the late '60s. A printing operation was added in 1993 followed by CD manufacturing operations in 1994. Current CD Production exceeded 4 million discs per month, while DVD capacity was at 800,000 discs per month.
The plant was eventually closed in 2011 at which time practical use of the glass master SID code IFPI LW60 also ceased.
