The British distribution company Total Home Entertainment Distribution Limited (THE) or Total Home Entertainment Ltd operated as a wholesaler and distributor of books, audio, video, multimedia, and computer games. It served customers through retail outlets in the United Kingdom (including J Sainsbury, Wm Morrison, and Somerfield) and worldwide. The company was founded in 1972 and was based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, United Kingdom. Company management bought out THE in 2000, and in 2003 venture capital firm 3i Group acquired 49.5% of the company. THE was acquired in 2006 by the Woolworths Group to form Entertainment UK (EUK). |
