Liverpool Empire Theatre

Profile:

Theatre in Liverpool, UK. Opened in March 1925 and has the largest two-tier auditorium in the UK, seating 2348 people.
The current building was the second theatre to operate on the site. The original theatre, opened in October 1866, was called the New Prince of Wales Theatre and Opera House. In July 1867, the name changed to Royal Alexandra Theatre and Opera House, in honour of the Princess of Wales. In 1896, the theatre changed ownership and was renamed The Empire Theatre. That name was retained when the theatre was demolished and rebuilt in 1924-1925.
The Beatles played their final concert in Liverpool here on December 5th 1965.
Also known as The Empire Theatre, Liverpool.
