French Jazz label founded in 1937 by Charles Delaunay.
Label Code: LC 0362 / LC 00362
Also appears as "Swing Records" or "Disques Swing". Not to be confused with the Disques Swing.
The first label in the world entirely devoted to jazz recordings. Pathé Marconi recorded, pressed and distributed the records, with Delaunay (who designed the logo) and Panassié choosing the musicians and orchestras and directing the recordings.
During the occupation, Swing released many records of French musicians playing American standards renamed to French to avoid censorship. After the Second World War, the brand again began publishing American artists, with American jazz in the spotlight. From 1951, Charles Delaunay entrusted the brand to Vogue .
