Dave (or David) Matthews (* 04 March 1942 in Sonora, Kentucky) is an American Funk, Soul, Jazz and Pop artist.
Pianist, producer, arranger, conductor and bandleader, David Matthews is well known for having been arranger for CTI Records.
He has also composed for television and commercial ment, but is also leader of both the Manhattan Jazz Quintet, two acts very popular in Japan.
He has also worked with George Benson, to name a few.
One of his main hits as a composer is Could Heaven Ever Be Like This, which he composed, arranged and produced for Idris Muhammad. He now lives in Japan.
